In 2015, Maurten discovered how to make sports fuels easier to tolerate by encapsulating high concentrations of carbohydrates in hydrogels. These sports fuels, based on five natural ingredients, became popular and one year later some of the world's best runners started using Maurten's sports drinks. 

BASED ON FIVE NATURAL INGREDIENTS

The hydrogel technology enables Maurten to redefine the field of sports fuel. The first products they have released are Drink Mix 160 and Drink Mix 320;

Twice the energy – the Drink Mix 320 contains nearly 14 per cent – or 80 grams – of carbohydrates when mixed. That's about twice as much carbs as was previously thought possible for the body to tolerate. 

No added flavour – Maurten is not impressed by artificial flavours. You can tell what you're getting from the taste of thier drink mixes.

No acid – Maurten had both stomach and teeth in mind when they developed products with neutral pH. 

Clean – no added colorants or preservatives. Maurten sports drinks contain only five natural ingredients. Nothing more and nothing less than what’s needed.

THE NEXT GENERATION OF DRINK MIX

Improved viscosity

Now, Drink Mix is less thick — more fluid-like in the bottle, making it easier to consume during high-intensity exercise.

Consistent quality across water sources

The new Drink Mix formula has significantly improved tolerance to calcium in water — now up to 80mg per liter, making Drink Mix more predictable and reliable in more situations. Athletes who travel away from their usual water source can still rely on the fuel they prefer to train and race with.

Neutral pH

Drink Mix now contains a small amount of sodium bicarbonate to maintain a neutral pH.

Better mixing

Specific to Drink Mix 320 — thanks to a new production method, the powder dissolves and mixes more easily.
